The Japanese martial art of wielding the bō is Bojutsu The basis of bō technique is te, or hand, techniques derived from quanfa and other martial arts that reached Okinawa via trade and Chinese monks. Thrusting, swinging, and striking techniques often resemble empty-hand movements, following the philosophy that the bō is merely an "extension of one’s limbs". Consequently, bōjutsu is often incorporated into other styles of empty hand fighting, such as Karate.
The NTK Weapons course will be held over two days focusing on Bo Staff (6 Foot staff) and Nunchuck
We held our very first NTK seminar for our club this month and I have to say what a great day we had.
Joining us from NTK HQ Bolton was Sensei Andy and Sensei Dave, 7th and 5th Dan Ju Jitsu respectively and from East Harling Karate Sensei Nigel, 4th Dan Karate.
We were taught a great mash up of Karate strikes as well as Ju jitsu ground techniques which were all very practical and well taught.
We will announce the next Seminar asap.
Thanks for all that attended
